Meetings
The 2011 Annual Meeting of the SSBE returned to Bern on August 22nd - 23rd, 2011. The meeting brought together academic and corporate researchers throughout Switzerland from diverse fields of Biomedical Engineering.
The goal of the meeting was to provide an overview of the current state of Biomedical Engineering in Switzerland and to offer an environment for a productive exchange between participants. The meeting followed our long-standing and successful format, which combines invited lectures by industry and research leaders with presentations of new research results from our Society's younger members. For 2011, the SSBE Annual Meeting joined with the CTI Medtech Event at the Kultur Casino Bern. This offered a unique blend of the traditional focus on member activities of the SSBE meeting, on August 22, and the CTI efforts in innovation promotion during the Medtech event, on August 23. With over 100 participants and 65 scientific posters, the meeting was a great success. Participants enjoyed a joint CTI-SSBE Apéro on August 22, followed by our Society's dinner in the Schwellenmätteli on the banks of the Aare River. We look forward to seeing everyone again in 2012. Further information is available on the conference webpage. Following on the successful meeting in Zürich in 2006, the Biomedical Engineering Societies of Austria, Germany and Switzerland came together again for BMT2010, a joint meeting hosted by the University of Rostock, on October 5 - 8, 2010. The Drei-Länder-Tagung attracted over 800 participants and featured more than 400 podium presentations and 200 posters. The meeting provided a broad overview of the field of Biomedical Engineering in D-A-CH. As before, the Drei-Länder-Tagung incorporated the Annual Meeting of our society. The next Drei-Länder-Tagung is scheduled for 2013 in Graz, Austria.
Further details of the conference can be found on the conference website. |
